40,000 B.C. — A great ice age is ending. Another titanic struggle for global supremacy has unwittingly commenced between the animal species.

Dominant Species: The Card Game is a fast-playing game that abstractly recreates a tiny portion of ancient history: the ponderous rescinding of an ice age and what that entails for the living creatures trying to adapt to the slowly-changing earth.


Players will use six major animal classes – mammal, reptile, bird, amphibian, arachnid or insect – to further their goals in various terrain. Through wily card play, players will strive to become dominant at as many different terrestrial and sea biomes as possible in order to claim valuable victory points: It is survival of the fittest.

All of this leads to the end game – the final descent of the ice age – where the player having accumulated the most victory points wins the game.

But somebody better become dominant quickly, because it’s getting mighty warm...

Test of Fire: Bull Run 1861 commemorates the sesquicentennial of the first land battle of the American Civil War and is the first game in a series of American Civil War themed games scheduled to be released by Mayfair Games and designed by Martin Wallace.

Command opportunities are determined by dice and action cards. To achieve victory the Union Army of Northeastern Virginia must seize Manassas Junction or rout the Southern Army to achieve victory. Test of Fire: Bull Run 1861 este un joc de 2 persoane, 10+ ani, cu timpul de joc in jurul a 45 minute. Pentru cei obisnuiti cu "standardul Wallace" in materie de complexitate, acest joc este considerat unul usurel.

Ca si o parere personala, cand e vorba de Wallace e neaparat "try before buy". Exceptam bineinteles fanii

Hai sa pun asta tot aici, ca tine de 2011: cica prin octombrie se va retipari War of the Ring. O veste buna pentru cei care si-l doresc dar, fiind OOP de ceva vreme, nu au prea multe sanse sa-l gaseasca.

Aici sunt si regulile de la Small World: Underground.

Tocmai s-a anuntat ca Eminent Domain va fi printat pana la inceputul lui Iulie si probabil jocul va fi disponibil la sfarsitul lui Iulie si in August.

Philippe Keyaerts a facut in 2001 in joc pe nume Evo, usurel si cu o plansa de joc foarte Catan-ish.

In 2011 jocul a fost re-slefuit pe ici, pe colo, s-a umblat mai mult la partea de artwork dar au aparut si noile reguli.
Lansarea e undeva prin toamna.

Nu e joc nou... dar sa zicem ca e CEVA nou: Puerto Rico va avea o editie aniversara (doar au trecut 10 ani de la prima editie) care va fi lansata la Essen intr-o editie limitata si va costa cam de 2 ori cat jocul obisnuit.
Detalii despre aspectul grafic si disponibilitate vor mai apare in august.
