Travel Blog is a swift and thrilling game about travelling. Your task is to pick a country or countries most suitable for your trip and to do it faster than your opponents. How many borders do you cross on your trip from France to Russia? Is it more or less than from Norway to Turkey? Detailed knowledge of the map is an advantage, but can be easily beaten by good intuition and fast decision making.

The interesting facts about one hundred countries and states are here just as a bonus. This is not a trivia game; Travel Blog continues to be fun even if you get pretty familiar with the maps – and you can bet you will, after a few games.

As spune ca este un must-buy din doua motive: 1. Mr Jack 2. Portabilitate maxima

As in the board version, a player takes on the role of the inspector trying to unmask Jack the Ripper while the other player takes on the role of the fleeing criminal. The difference is in the game mechanics: the infernal pursuit now takes place on a board that's 3 squares to a side, each square representing both a London street and one of the nine suspects. around the board are placed a Holmes, a Watson and a police dog token. On each turn, the first player (the inspector or Jack, in turn) uses 4 action tokens wich allow to move the investigator tokens, to reorient the tiles or to draw a ''suspect card''. A suspect is visible only if the investigator can see that suspect in the streets in front of him. Suspects hidden by buildings are invisible.

At the end of each turn, the player in the role of Jack must say if the guilty character is visible or not. If that character isn't visible, Jack earns an hourglass.

If the Jack player can earn 6 hourglasses, that player wins the game (knowing that hourglasses are earned by remaining invisible and by drawing ''suspect'' cards). The inspetor wins if there's only a single suspect left at the end of a turn.

On more than 1000 games of the final configuration selected, we can show that the inspector has statistics of 55% of victories. Very close to the 50-50, and which will encourage the more experienced players to begin the first game on Jack side, in order to let its adversary familiarize with the game.

The most scientific sci-fi game ever produced! Recommended for ages 12 and higher. 2 - 5 players design rockets to explore and industrialize the solar system. They will need to find water as reaction mass for their rockets. Points are awarded according to the scarcity of the space-products produced, glory, colonies, and mega-engineering projects. NOTE: The games have been printed, but will not arrive until the first week of October, and will not be shipped until then.

A boxed game with rocket, freighter, and factory plastic pieces, along with rules, patent cards, rocket diagrams, and a mounted "delta-v" map of the inner solar system.

When people finally emigrate into space, the motivation will be space nanofacturing using processes possible only in zero-gravity and high-vacuum conditions. The key to economic production is finding water on suitable worlds, for rocket propellent and life support. Also key is designing efficient rockets and the remote-controlled machines called robonauts to do the grunt work. Each space mission must be flexible due to changing conditions and emergencies. A chart keeps track of supply and demand of various space products.

A High Frontier expansion is available, see SMG28a. This extends the map to include Jupiter and Saturn, and adds radiators, generators, and reactors to the design mix.

In luna noiembrie (deci nu peste mult timp), Rio Grande Games va lansa un goodies pack (asa cum imi place mie sa zic) ce se va intitula Ystari Treasure Box. Acesta va contine expansiuni pentru 6 jocuri: Amyitis, Caylus Magna Carta, Metropolys, Mykerinos, Sylla si Yspahan. Pe site-ul producatorului am gasit urmatoarele informatii:

Nile: this is a small expansion for Mykerinos. It was previously available in limited release.

Caveant Consules: Sylla will feature 2 new characters, 2 new events and one new great work: the forum, which provides a res publica token of each color to the player with the most votes and a token choice for the second player. When you give the votes to the Plebeians, you get 2 points for each set of 3 votes.

Royal favor: Caylus Magna Carta will now support up to 5 players and will add a few new buildings (including prestige buildings) which can grant some royal favors. A small board will allow you those favors and gain some resources, victory points or permanent powers. For instance, you may sacrifice a worker for a whole round in exchange for a denier or a resource.

Nebuchadnezzar’s palace: Amyitis will be embellished with a palace and a new craft to get in: the courtier. Depending on your investment in the palace, you may become the first player, do the procession, recruit any character, or get a courtier.

dupa 165 post-uri trebuie sa inchidem acest thread (de fapt nu-l voi inchide dar nu va mai fi sticky) pentru ca 2010 se apropie de sfarsit. A fost un an interesant cu jocuri interesante, si cele din 2011 se anunta si mai si. multumesc tuturor celor care au contribuit cu stiri la acest lung thread!

Ei, si daca adixor tot nu a inchis aceasta discutie (, ci doar a facut-o sa nu mai fie sticky), ma gandeam sa fac un rezumat al tuturor jocurilor discutate aici (bine, pe cateva le-am sarit de lene). In orice caz, desi proiectul initial era ceva mai ambitios (cu tot felul de link-uri), faptul ca trebuie sa ma pregatesc nervos pentru revelion (si pentru Boltzurile si Kings-urile aferente), m-a facut sa alcatuiesc doar o simpla lista a tuturor jocurilor discutate.

Surpriza cea mare a venit prin faptul ca 99% dintre jocurile discutate au fost deja lansate, in conditiile in care ma asteptam sa mai fi aparaut intarzieri pe la macar 5-6 jocuri (se pare ca producatorii de board games nu prea sufera de sindromurile Blizzard Entertainment, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sau Duke Nukem Forever). Dar m-am vazut nevoit sa prezint o lista foooarte scurta de jocuri nelansate inca (care ar putea fi mutate la lista de jocuri pentru 2011, dar am decis sa le las aici). Asa ca, fara sa va plictisesc cu mai multe vorbe, va dau lista:

Personal gasesc average rating-ul ca fiind un bun reper, dar sunt sigur ca exista si alte preferinte, asa ca iata si pagina cu rezultatele, in caz ca vreti o alta sortare.

Lista cuprinde 161 titluri. Mai sunt inca aproape 500 titluri aparute in 2010 cu minim 10 voturi si pe care nu le-am mentionat. Asa ca putem juca 2 jocuri in fiecare zi fara sa jucam unul de 2 ori

Oricum, pare a fi fost un super an (Vinhos, London, Labyrinth, 7 Wonders, Dominant Species, Innovation, 51st state, nume grele și astăzi)
