Update #9: 70K Stretch Reward
Posted about 7 hours ago

Troops,

Did you notice that we went over 70,000$ in pledges?

And do you remember that there was supposed to be a reward for that milestone?

Well, the wait is over!

Supporters of all levels will receive 2 bonus cards for their game, designed especially for this occasion. I don't have an image yet, because we are still editing the game text, but here they are in essence:

- The Supporter: This Unique Specialist will be available on all Battle Maps. He will allow you to - wait for it - support the other Units by giving (but not receiving) resources and items.

- The Victory Ribbon: An Award (you never have too many of those) that will allow all Units to recruit 1 Regular Specialist for free.

As you can see, the Kickstarter deal is getting better and better.
Update #10: Here it is, at last: our big reward for making us the #1 on Kickstarter!
Posted about 7 hours ago

Yes, it's been a long time coming.

But we had to make sure the product was both good-looking and sturdy.

And this Kickstarter campaign has been moving faster than Patton's Third Army in France!

So here we are, finally: it's my pleasure to announce our big, fat, thank you gift to all our Kickstarter supporters.

Let me present to you your new buddy: the D-DAY DICE BAG!

Image

This beauty holds 2 base game boxes (or base game + Atlantikwall), which is sufficient to store a lot of future expansions, too.

You want a bag like this and are not a Kickstarter supporter yet? You still have until December 9th, 2011 to pledge! Go right HERE for our Kickstarter campaign)

As always, an enormous thank you to all of you who have made this experience a truly enjoyable and memorable one.

Next stop: 85K!

Can we make it before I can announce the reward? We'll see!

Update #11: The new reward for us reaching $85,000 is here!
Posted 5 days ago

Dear supporters,

It's that time once again!

To commemorate us reaching the 85K milestone, supporters of all levels will receive their game in a limited edition D-Day Dice tin box!

This will be a fully-printed and embossed edition of the regular game box. Sorry, no photos yet, but imagine a cool tin box like Forbidden Island.

You prefer your games in cardboard? No problem! The tin box is a bonus, meaning you will receive 2 boxes for your base game. You can keep your game in cardboard and use the tin box for your cookies (to give them that special D-Day Dice taste), or you can put your base game in the tin box and use the cardboard box for the expansions.

Next stop... 100K!
Update #12: The new reward for us reaching $100,000 is here!

Wow.

We were at 90K not 3 days ago...

We were going to announce the 100K reward in the next few days, as we were waiting for prototypes. But who needs prototypes, right? Let's get down to business!

Supporters of all levels will receive 1 set of Limited Edition RWB Dice, which consists of a regular set of 6 RWB dice, but with a "speckled" effect. Here's a picture of the dice samples sent by the manufacturer, to give you an idea of the speckled look. Those are not final by any means, but they do give you a good idea of the product. And they look better in real life, of course.
The material used (urea) is the same as the regular RWB dice, so these will fit with the rest. But they'll look cooler, and grungier, than the regular dice. Using them will make you a better person in the eyes of many, and will highlight the fact that you were a KS supporter, one of the chosen (less and less) few.

Next stop... $105,399! (The magic number for us to become the #1 project in the overall "games" category")
Jocul este deja la $105,085.

Update #13: $105,399 Update
Posted about 10 hours ago

OK, troops, here's the sitch:

Not only are things going very well on Kickstarter, they are going way too well (see how I can make puns with the names of upcoming expansions?)! Keeping up with the pledges is almost impossible...

So, what do we offer our supporters for making us number 1 in the "games" category on Kickstarter?

More cards!

We'll add 2 more cards to the 4 that were already offered, and we'll bundle all these in a small pack called... the K-Pack!

What are these cards? Glad you asked!

The Campaign Ribbon is an Award that allows all Units to add 1 result of their choice to their Final Tally. This can mean some serious RWB bonuses all around!

The K-Rations is a Regular Item (which can be added to any Map). It allows one Unit to effectively double its "2 Soldiers" results for 1 turn. That's what happens when you offer rations to your boys!

We are currently working hard on our next stretch reward. There are many possibilities, depending on which manufacturer answers first and what prices are right, so I can't announce anything right now.

Next stop... 115K!

Wait!

We're already there! Damn! By the time I announce it, we'll be way past 120K!

Update #14: Just in time to announce... the $115K reward!
Posted about 6 hours ago

Dear D-Day Dicers,

Yep, things are definitely not slowing down. Our campaign has kicked into high gear for the last stretch, and boy, is it moving fast!

So, just in time for us almost reaching 140K, here is the much-awaited reward for us reaching 115K (way back when):

A full set of Limited Edition dice!

Instead of every supporter receiving only 1 set of 6 dice, we will provide every game with a full complement of "speckled" dice (24 in all). This means your game will come with 2 full sets of dice (one for your good friends, the other one for your not-so-good friends).

Next stop... infinity!

Or maybe 140K.
Ei bine, jocul a strans deja $145,845!

Georgel, in masina:
- Nu unul, sute!!!!"

Wow, incredibil.

Rik Falch wrote:We have no official date for now. Although we must admit that the Kickstarter hoopla did nothing to quicken things (a lot of time was spent collating names for the rulebooks, etc...).

Will the game come out in March? Unfortunately, this is unlikely, and April might be a stretch.

Here are some specific details though;

1. All game material is at the printer, final proofs have been generated. Emmanuel and I will do a last confirmation of the files tomorrow or Tuesday.

2. Proofs of the tins arrived and they look GREAT! I will send one of them to Emmanuel for his approval and then he will take pictures and post.

3. Most dice have been approved. Took a few tweaks on colors and Pantones and now we are just waiting on one last proof of the "Bloody" dice. (Interesting fact; there will be just over 400,000 dice manufactured for this project.)

4. All the rules cards for the MGF dice are printed and sitting at the warehouse.

5. All the numbered "Thank You" cards that Emmanuel himself will be signing are enroute to the warehouse.

6. Messenger bags should be completed within the first week of February and sitting in the warehouse by early March.

Final timeline I cannot quite confirm as we are still on Chinese New Year and it always takes about a week to get everything up to full speed again afterwards.

I will post more updates as they occur.

L-am primit? Da si nu :)

Shippingul a fost facut in US, ca era prea dur direct in Romania fiind singurul backer. Acolo a ajuns safe and sound.

Te bagi si la fratele mai mic, Airborne In Your Pocket?
