I finally got word from the warehouse today, and what actually showed up was cases of Second Stage for Manhattan Project. So there was some miscommunication and the Hegemonic board games are still on a boat to the USA. The shipper didn't really mention what was in it and I had jumped to the conclusion it was Hegemonic. My fault as I should have backtracked the expected date and seen these were arriving too early. Sorry for getting hopes up.
They are on a boat for sure though. What this means is that it'll be another 2-3 weeks before they are in our warehouse. So much of the last update might have been in vain, but I still believe there will be 3-4 weeks delay beyond that for the coins arriving.
So, this update is to let you know not to expect to get your game next week but that we're still very close. This gives us some more prep time for the hassles of the previous update though. So I would like to take this moment to clear some things up...
1) We will still ask if you would like advance shipping of Hegemonic before the coins arrive as it will still be a delay, but shorter. We will not charge anything for that till we're ready to ship and know the date of the coins' arrival - as it may become a non-issue if the coins arrive quicker then expected.
2) Yes this Hegemonic and the Future Coins campaigns turned into an utter mess. We've learned from that and no longer go out of our way to offer everyone the options they personally want.
3) These "FREE" coins are costing us more than $10 per order. They were a mistake to put on as a stretch goal - but one that was caused by the actual cost of the coins coming in more than we were originally told.
4) That also means the 50 pack we sold for $12 on the Future Coins campaign nets us very little money to spare and so we can't take from there. This is why the Dragon Coins campaign costs more than the Future Coins campaign - because we didn't make money on the Future Coins.
5) This 4 pound game that will retail for $79.99 is now coming to you (USA) for just $69 including $25 worth of coins, $10 worth of free velvet bags, an exclusive arbiter button, 2 free promotional tech cards, and in a special foil signed box. As you can see a HUGE value, so there isn't room for paying even more postage.
6) I changed the split shipping $15 amount to $10 as I forgot we had subsidized the original shipping on the Future Coins campaign by $5. This was part of the confusion people had that I didn't understand.
7) We are a small company with 1 full time person (me) and several contractors. We are happy if a game we print even makes a profit. Only about half our games have done so in this over crowded marketplace. So we in no way have $5k laying around to donate to extra shipping on this project.
8) It still remains that you will get everything you expected from this campaign, just another month or so later if you don't wish to pay any additional fee to speed up delivery. It is an OPTION to do so and your choice. We're not bleeding money from anyone and it's much more hassle to do it this way.
9) We are now offering 8 different ways (pickup at BBG.CON, include in another KS order, stop by our store, just wait, etc) to get your bonus coins without paying anything extra. There are 2 more ways if you pay $5 or $10 to get your Hegemonic a month early.
10) Oliver didn't get a blurb in the campaign about section because of just an oversight. We used to give more exposure to our developers on our earlier campaigns, but I guess we just started forgetting about that part of the about section at some point. I'll make sure we continue forward giving the designers proper exposure.
11) Everyone has till the end of this week to make up their mind as to what they want to do
12) You do not pay the extra postage now or in backerkit.com - when we're ready to ship we'll see your payment though miniongames.com
13) If you do NOT live in USA or Canada you can pretty much ignore all this stuff about early shipment. Your shipment is still looking to go out late November.
